Around the atelier

Our Campo
de Ourique.
When you visit the atelier, you are stepping into our daily life. Campo de Ourique is one of Lisbon's most local neighbourhoods, quiet, residential, and full of good things if you know where to look.
Here are the places we actually go to. Just the spots we love, within walking distance of the atelier.
Where we go for coffee
Manteigaria
Our local pastéis de nata. Better than Belém itself, and without the queue. Go to the Praça de Parada parc. Grab a pastel, sit on a terrace, order a coffee or a glass of wine.
Etma Bakery
Yes, it is instagrammable. But the roulé jambon and the meat sandwich are genuinely very good. Worth it.
Myka
Greek frozen yogurt that is genuinely addictive. The perfect afternoon stop after visiting the atelier, especially in summer. Go for the pistachio topping.
Where we eat
Pigmeu
The neighbourhood spot we keep coming back to. Everything revolves around pork, creative, well executed, very good. Cosy and welcoming, the kind of place where the staff greet you like a regular from the first visit.
Hikidashi
A Japanese taberna right in the neighbourhood, one of the best in Lisbon. Go with your eyes shut. Closed on Mondays.
Imperial de Campo de Ourique
A proper Portuguese tasca. No frills, big portions, real food. The kind of place where the menu is in Portuguese, the regulars are all local, and the stewed cheeks will make you want to come back. Lunch only, closed Sundays.
Street Smash Burgers
The best burger to take to the park. Crispy smash patties, good buns, quick service. Grab one and head to Jardim da Estrela five minutes away. Simple and very good.
Where we drink
Vivants
Our local wine bar. Natural wines, a knowledgeable owner, and the kind of neighbourhood energy that makes you stay longer than planned. On Thursday and Friday evenings, the chef opens the kitchen and the food is absolutely worth it. Follow them on Instagram to see what's on.
Badassery
A speakeasy with live concerts, great cocktails, and the best energy in the neighbourhood. The lineup changes so follow them on Instagram to know what's on. One of those places you stumble into and end up staying all night.
Made in the neighbourhood
Sabor Mercearia
A lovely neighbourhood deli run by the cutest. Perfect for picking up good things to take to the park, cheese, charcuterie, a bottle of wine. Everything you need for an impromptu picnic at Jardim da Estrela.
Marta Cypel
A friend and a talented ceramicist with her atelier right in the neighbourhood. Her work is beautiful, he kind of piece you bring home and keep forever. Worth a visit if you love handmade objects with real character.
On foot
Praça de Parada
One of those squares that stops you in your tracks. Quiet, beautiful, very local. A great spot to sit down with a coffee or a glass of wine and just watch the neighbourhood go by.
Walk to Príncipe Real
One of our favourite walks in Lisbon. Head towards the Jardim da Estrela — one of the city's most beautiful parks, perfect for a slow stroll — then continue on foot to Príncipe Real, with its design shops, cafés and weekend market. About 20 minutes, all downhill.
Cemitério dos Prazeres
Alexandre's pick. One of Lisbon's most beautiful cemeteries — peaceful, impressive, and completely unlike what you might expect. An honest surprise. For those who know.
Alexandre's recommendationTram 28
The iconic tram stops right in the neighbourhood. A practical and charming way to arrive or leave — it connects Campo de Ourique to the rest of the city through some of Lisbon's most beautiful streets.
